Sims 4 Player Discovers Cool Get Famous Mechanic After 1,000 Hours Of Gameplay

Summary The Sims 4's Get Famous expansion allows Sims to pursue acting careers.

Players can change green screen backdrops for various movie settings along with adding special visual effects like rain, rose petals, or spaghetti and meatballs to their scenes.

Changing the green screen backdrop does not impact a Sim's performance, as they are given specific tasks to complete during each scene.

The Sims 4 lets players create characters from all walks of life, and its 2015 Get Famous expansion pack lets them rise to superstardom in either their current careers as painters or chefs or pursue new goals such as acting to reach this level of fame and fortune. In the case of the latter, Sims can star in anything from commercials to television series, with the potential to get the lead role in the next major blockbuster.

When actors have an acting gig in Get Famous, they must attend to the studio lot and perform their daily tasks, which include getting their costumes fitted, hair styled, practicing lines, etc. Then, when they are ready, they can speak to the director and be directed to the main stage.

As spotted by Redditor chandlerrbonk, it is possible to change the backdrop on the main stage by selecting the green screen behind the scene. From here, it will give options to either turn on the screen or change the setting. Many players were surprised, pointing out that the Reddit post was the first they'd heard of the feature, as shiish77 also asked, "How are there still things I’m learning about this game 1000 hours in?"

What Settings Can The Green Screen Be Changed To?

And Does This Impact A Sim's Performance?

Close

From the image shared, there are plenty of options for the green screen to transport a Sim into a variety of worlds, including a Western saloon, a post-apocalyptic wasteland, or a fantasy castle. This lets players imagine a wealth of different movie possibilities for their Sim to star in. All of the objects available in the studio lot are also available in Build Mode and can be placed in a residential lot, meaning players can set up their own studio for their passion projects should they wish.

There are also plenty of specifically themed rooms that revolve around specific scenes that are also featured on specific acting gig stages.

Alongside changing the backdrop, players can also change special visual effects on the stage, which can cause rain, rose petals, or, bizarrely, spaghetti and meatballs to fall from the sky. Regardless of the setting or how much food is being hurled at a Sim, their performance doesn't seem to be impacted, as once they start performing the scene, players will be given a specific list of tasks that they need to perform on the stage in order to complete their performance successfully, and anything going on around them is just for fun.

Hopefully, now that so many players have been informed of the green screen's potential in chandlerrbonk's post, they'll be able to dive back into The Sims 4 and further tap into the potential of the 9-year-old expansion pack, making their own blockbusters for all of Del Sol Valley to enjoy. After all, the prospect of an apocalypse caused by an overabundance of spaghetti and meatballs - like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs mixed with Mad Max - sounds like a movie that's certainly worth seeing on the big screen.
