Stardew Valley Player Discovers The Game's Most Awkward Krobus Dialogue
Summary A Stardew Valley player discovers a strange interaction with Krobus, questioning their platonic roommate situation.
Krobus functions as a spouse alternative in Stardew Valley, offering companionship without commitment.
Fans request ConcernedApe to allow marriage with Krobus, but the developer has no intention to do so.
While Krobus is widely beloved by the Stardew Valley community for his awkward yet friendly conversations, one player uncovered a strange interaction that may seriously harm their relationship with the monster. Unlike many of the eligible singles in Pelican Town, the Farmer is unable to propose to Krobus after leveling up their relationship with enough gifts but they can take another major step: Moving in together. The situation is undeniably hilarious as the Shadow Monster converts his room to look like his beloved sewers but apparently, it's possible for players to get a little too familiar with him.
Posted to Reddit by Pesto_isbesto, the player shares a strange chat they had with Krobus as the Shadow Monster asks why the Farmer seemingly tried to snack on him like a piece of "black lick or ish."
It's not just a case of sleepwalking either as the player character even "nibbled" Krobus as they muttered about the sweet treat. The dialogue, which is hilarious in and of itself, has many fans calling into question whether or not the roommate situation is as platonic as they were led to believe.

Krobus Is Still A Fun Roommate
Although His Taste Is Questionable
Close
Krobus has become the go-to relationship for Stardew Valley players who'd rather not settle down and have children with one of Pelican Town's singles. While he largely functions as a spouse in a mechanical sense, some interactions are tweaked to ensure that no one gets the wrong idea. As an example, instead of giving Krobus a good morning kiss like the Farmer would normally do with a spouse, they instead give him a hug, reinforcing the idea that they're just best friends.
Additionally, Krobus can spend his day looking after the Farmer's children they may have from a previous marriage but aside from that, it doesn't do much work around the house. There is a chance that he decides he's had enough of the player's interior decorating and instead installs some of his own furniture, even if it clashes with the rest of the house. Ultimately, Krobus is a great roommate, especially for those players who just want someone to hang around with rather than a serious commitment.
A large portion of the Stardew Valley has called upon ConcernedApe to take the leap and allow players to marry Krobus but the developer has stated that he has no intention of doing so. Whether his stance on the topic changes in the coming years remains unknown but with the help of creative fans, anything is possible. Several mods have been released that morph Krobus' relationship with the Farmer into marriage material for those who just want something more romantic.
