Xbox Game Pass Just Got Another Great Day-One Game Today
Summary Cricket 24 joins Xbox Game Pass as a Day One release, offering sports fans a realistic cricket gaming experience.
July sees a variety of new additions to Game Pass, including Case of the Golden Idol, Neon White, and Tchia.
More Day One releases and indie games are expected in the second wave of July's Xbox Game Pass lineup.
Xbox Game Pass is already offering subscribers plenty of great titles for July but the latest addition to the service is sure to appeal to sports fans eager to try out a new release. Despite already dropping plenty of exciting games in the early days of the month, including Journey to the Savage Planet and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, the arrival of a Day One release is always an exciting time. The chance to play a brand new game without paying an additional cent is still one of the best parts of Game Pass.
Fortunately for sports fans, per True Achievements, they'll be able to play Cricket 24 on Xbox Game Pass today as what's described as the "most realistic cricket video game ever" bowls its way onto the platform. Not only is it another Day One release, but the game itself has earned decent reviews as critics have praised its mechanical precision even if the overall project lacks innovation and polish. For players who may have grown tired of games like NHL and Madden, Cricket 24 could be the refreshing change of pace they need to get back into the swing of things.

If Cricket 24 doesn't appeal to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, they needn't fear because the platform still has plenty of new additions in the pipeline. Dropping alongside Cricket 24 is the excellent Case of the Golden Idol, a detective point-and-click adventure game with plenty of devious puzzles and an innovative deduction system that rewards curious and imaginative play. On July 11, Neon White will also join Game Pass which should appeal to those users looking for a bit of speed and action to contrast against cricket's slower pace.
Neon White is arguably the biggest early-July win for Game Pass subscribers as the shooter is widely agreed to be one of the best games of 2022 and while Microsoft announced in 2023 that the game would soon be available on its service, it's taken several months to come to pass. Aside from Neon White, the other major addition is Tchia, a magical open-world game inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Set in the land of New Caledonia, players are able to explore their environments by possessing a variety of creatures and objects.
While Microsoft has yet to reveal the full lineup for Xbox Game Pass' second wave of July releases, there are still a handful of Day One releases for players to expect. It's a big month for indie fans as Dungeons of Hinterberg is slated to arrive on July 18 alongside the highly-anticipated Soulslite Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. Capcom is then rounding out the month by releasing Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on July 19.
