Summary The Irish music docu-dramedy Kneecap has earned 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This marks the highest score ever for a movie featuring Michael Fassbender.

Fassbender's second-best score is 95% for 12 Years a Slave.

Kneecap has earned two-time Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender his best Rotten Tomatoes score yet. The new comedy movie, which blends fiction and documentary, follows the formation of the titular Irish hip-hop band in West Belfast's Gaeltacht Quarter in 2019. While the three band members play themselves, they are surrounded by actors including Fassbender, Simone Kirby, Adam Best, Jessica Reynolds, and Josie Walker. Although some early positive Kneecap reviews came after the movie's premiere at Sundance in January, most critics waited to share their thoughts on the movie until the lead-up to its official release in August.

Rotten Tomatoes has now aggregated an official score for Kneecap out of 50 different reviews from critics. The movie has received a profoundly fresh Tomatometer score of 96%. While this score could fluctuate as more reviews are added, at the time of writing it is the highest score for any movie starring Michael Fassbender. His second-best title would be the Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave, which has a Certified Fresh score of 95%.
