The Waterfront has added Holt McCallany to the cast in a major role. The upcoming Netflix drama from writer and executive producer Kevin Williamson (Scream, The Vampire Diaries, The Following) is based on a true story and follows the Buckley family, who run a fishing business in North Carolina. The show follows the family as they begin to take desperate measures to save their livelihood during a period of economic uncertainty.

Per Deadline, Holt McCallany has joined the cast of The Waterfront in the role of Harlan Buckley. Harlan is the leader of the family who stepped back from the fishery business after two heart attacks but comes back into a leadership position due to his son's mismanagement, bringing his own questionable methods back to the fore. This marks the actor's return to the streamer after starring as FBI special agent Bill Tench opposite Jonathan Groff and Anna Torv in both seasons of the David Fincher-produced crime thriller Mindhunter.
