Now, having joined Valnet, the site is looking to further grow its social interaction features by boosting the engagement of its community and adding more features so users can get the most out of their experience.
Per Game Rant, OpenCritic will be joining Valnet Inc.'s Odyssey Group, a division that largely focuses on interactive entertainment and consists of recognizable brands like Game Rant, TheGamer, DualShockers, and Hardcore Gamer. OpenCritic's collection of aggregated reviews will soon be integrated into the aforementioned sites, allowing users to quickly look up reviews for various games they're reading about with no fuss or frustration. OpenCritic is also looking to advance itself as a platform, as a dedicated development team is in the process of improving the site and expanding upon the services it already offers.

Working with Odyssey Group, OpenCritic is also planning on further building its current API Partners which includes Good Old Games, The Epic Games Store, Humble Bundle, Gamesplanet, and Newzoo. The site is also launching a gaming news syndication project that will incorporate articles and information from Valnet Inc.'s sources. Speaking about the transition, OpenCritic Co-Founder Matthew Enthoven noted that the site is "set for continued growth" by combining its expertise with Valent's resources.
As for Valnet, the decision to acquire OpenCritic is the next step in the company's endeavor to expand its gaming vertical and provide more information to its various communities. Talking about the acquisition, Odyssey Group's Head of Marketing James Kosur reassures users that the team is "ready to deliver features that we continuously see gamers looking for." At the time of writing, current OpenCritic outlets will be eligible for integration.
OpenCritic's addition to the Odyssey Group is another feather in the cap of a division that's steadily growing.
