10 Isekai Anime Every New Fan Should Watch If They Need a New Addication
Isekai anime series come in all shapes and sizes, but they're all based on a similar premise. A normal person, usually from Japan, gets transported to a fantasy world where they gain massive powers, amazing followers, and everything else they can ask for. The best isekai series feature incredible fights and astounding worlds that only make viewers wish there were more episodes. Series like That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime are more light-hearted than they are serious, while series like Overlord excel at doing the opposite.
Some of the best isekai series already have more than 50 episodes available to watch right now. That makes them a perfect choice for an anime viewer looking to fuel their isekai addition, traveling to a new world with all new rules and fun characters to guide them through it.

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince is an interesting isekai series in that the Prince Lloyd doesn't get reincarnated into a new world but the same one that he died in. The difference is that, in his past life, he was a regular person without access to any incredible magic. That all changes when he gets reincarnated as the titular 7th prince of the Kingdom, granting him a huge pool of mana to use and plenty of the best books on magic around. He uses his new position in life incredibly, becoming of the strongest people in the world before he even turns 10.
I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince is an excellent isekai series for the fan looking for a power fantasy. Prince Lloyd is stronger than everyone he comes across, and, thanks to retaining memories from his past life, is much smarter than he looks. He toys with his enemies like a truly insane character in the best ways possible.

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy is another awesome power fantasy starring Misumi Makoto as he looks to navigate his new world that he was forced into. Unlike other isekai protagonists who are summoned to protect the world and given incredible powers in order to do so, Makoto was hugely mistreated upon his entrance to his new world. The Goddess who summoned him deemed him too ugly to be useful and sent him to the furthest reaches of the world.
Makoto spends the rest of the series gathering powerful allies in an attempt to usurp the Goddess who insulted him and subjected him to such cruelty. It's a funny series with a main character so absurdly overpowered that most of the characters not on Makoto's side quickly change their tune as soon as they realize what they're up against.

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, So I'll Max Out My Defense Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, So I'll Max Out My Defense follows Kaede Honjou as she navigates a virtual reality MMO game. Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, So I'll Max Out My Defense isn't a traditional isekai series in that it takes place inside a video game, but it's an isekai series in every way that matters. Maple and her friends are transported to a new world with new rules, new powers, and new enemies to face. It's easily one of the cutest and most adorable isekai series because of its characters as well, taking a sometimes serious genre and adding a lot of much-needed fun to it along the way.
Maple doesn't really understand the new game that she's in, so she maxes out her defensive stat instead of putting points into any other category. While this might seem like a mistake, Maple quickly becomes untouchable. She can barely take damage, even from the strongest enemies around. It makes for a great premise right from the first episode, and with two solid seasons currently out, any isekai fan will get a kick out of Maple, Sally, and the rest of Maple Tree.

Isekai is a genre known for its love of power fantasy, and none do it quite as well as The Eminence in Shadow. Shadow, real name Cid Kagenou, was born to be one of the most overpowered isekai protagonists in anime history. He loves and appreciates his new, broken powers more than anyone else in his position. Cid decides to live a double life as an easy-going schoolboy during the day and the titular Eminence in Shadow at night, leading a covert group of some of the world's strongest characters in battle against whoever is unlucky enough to stand in their way.
Related 10 Coolest Isekai Heroes Anime Has Ever Seen Isekai anime aren't known for having great protagonists, but there are a few that are undeniably great heroes for isekai and anime, in general.
Shadow's story is so beautifully simple, watching The Eminence in Shadow is as easy as drinking water. The only downside to the series is that there aren't more episodes currently animated. While there might be more to come in the future, the two seasons that are currently animated are filled with monumental fights, a great cast of characters, and one of the most overpowered main characters in isekai.

There are a lot of well-named anime series, but none hit the nail on the head quite like How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom. While a lot of fantasy kingdoms summon a warrior to protect them from evil, the kingdom in Realist Hero has a different plan. They summon a character with intelligence instead of physical strength, and it's a decision that works out for them much faster than they could have ever hoped.
Related 10 Great Isekai Anime Without Fan Service Isekai anime is plagued with unnecessary fanservice, but these series prove that the genre can still be great without that.
Kazuya Souma is a college student in Japan with a lot of knowledge of both social and civil engineering, allowing him to rebuild the kingdom he was summoned to into a state much stronger than when he arrived. He's smart, analytical, and altogether different from fellow isekai protagonists like Shadow or Prince Lloyd. How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom is a fresh addition to an otherwise over-saturated genre.

Overlord is the best isekai series for an anime fan who wants to watch an isekai character rule through pure domination. Sure, Ainz Ooal Gown could work hard to establish strong diplomatic relations with the nations around him, but he'd rather wipe them out with a single spell than do that. He is the titular Overlord and the series is made all the better for it. Overlord is a series that stands out from the rest because of Ainz.
While he's not much stronger than other overpowered isekai characters, his willingness to be a true anti-hero sets him and his series apart from the rest. Overlord also has a lot of hilarious moments that juxtapose the sheer brutality Ainz is willing to inflict upon his enemies. Overall, Overlord is a great pick for anyone wanting a change of pace from the normal isekai formula into something a lot darker.

No Game No Life is a classic isekai series. It tells the tale of two of the smartest characters in all anime when step-siblings Shiro and Sora are transported to the wonderful world of Disboard. Before they were sent to their new world, they dominated the leaderboards of every game they played. Luckily for the pair of exceptional gamers, Disboard is a world ruled by games. They can conquer entire nations through, albeit complex, games that they love to play.
No Game No Life only has a single season and a movie to watch, much less than most other isekai series. While there probably won't be a second season any time soon, the first makes for a great watch because of how smart the main characters are. They're another pair of isekai protagonists that would rather use their brains than their muscles to solve their problems, and No Game No Life is made all the better for it.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil is an isekai series unlike any other. It stars the titular Tanya as she not only wages war against the enemies of her nation, but Being X as well. Being X is a god-like metaphysical creature that transported Tanya to her new world after she, formerly he, told him that he wasn't real and that she didn't care to believe him. Now as a little girl, Tanya is dedicating her life to training her troops and finding even more ways to blaspheme the being that brought her to her new world.
There aren't many characters in isekai quite as insane as Tanya, and that's a good thing. Her unhinged behavior makes her series equal parts funny and jarring, creating a unique watching experience that can really only be compared to fellow isekai series Overlord. Overall, The Saga of Tanya the Evil is a great watch for any isekai fan looking for a new addiction to one of the best, craziest protagonists around.

The Ascendance of a Bookworm has one of the most wonderfully simple premises in anime. Main is transported to a new world and only wants to read books. She doesn't even really care what kind of books they are, she just wants to read. Unfortunately, she's transported into a world where books are a rare commodity. Instead of giving up on her goals, or changing her desires, she decides to create her own books.
She does a great job of making books before finding a vast library, deciding to do whatever it takes to gain access to it. It's a straightforward premise that gets more and more entertaining as the series progresses, and Main herself is an easy character to root for throughout the entire show. There aren't many more isekai series with adorable characters like Main and her friends, making it an easy addiction for any newcomer to the series.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is one of the biggest isekai series in scope. It tells the tale of a lowly slime gaining friends, incredible abilities, and eventually, an entire kingdom. Rimuru was transported to his new world blind, deaf, and with no more abilities than to eat the food around him. Eventually, he becomes so powerful that he leads an entire nation, defeating Demon-Lords and even bringing his friends back from death itself. The end result is that Rimuru is one of the strongest characters in anime history.

While Slime has its serious moments, it's mainly a comedy series focused on Rimuru and his exploits. He's a caring character who only wants to help his friends and the new world he's found himself in. If there's anyone out there who hasn't seen Slime, they're in for a treat. Besides the brutal Meetings Arc, Slime is an entertaining series with great fights, fun characters, and a main character who's always getting better.
