Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 has kicked off production. The Disney+ show is a new live-action adaptation of the series of Greek mythology-inspired Rick Riordan novels of the same name, which were previously adapted into a pair of movies in the early 2010s. Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, which adapts the second novel Sea of Monsters features the return of Walker Scobell as Poseidon's son Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Athena's daughter Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as their satyr protector Grover Underwood.
On Instagram, director James Bobin and cinematographer Jules O'Loughlin both shared images from their first day on set, revealing that production has officially begun on Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2. Check out their posts below:
Bobin shared a blurry image of a slate in front of what could be a pair of booted feet or potentially special effects meant to represent cloven hooves. The caption on the photo reads "Camera test. Excited to get going on this next adventure. Going to be epic."
O'Loughlin shared a clearer image of the slate, revealing that they were shooting take 1 of scene 1.4, along with a caption reading "Let’s go!!"
