Ben Affleck's Daredevil was considered for Deadpool & Wolverine, reveals Shawn Levy, as the director behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe installment opens up about the cameo process.

In a new interview with Variety, Levy was asked if it was ever true that Affleck was almost close to reprising the role of Daredevil from his 2003 film in Deadpool & Wolverine. Levy revealed they were looking at a short-list of 70 Marvel cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine, and Affleck's Daredevil was initially someone they looked at, but there were never any negotiations or scheduling attempts to try to get him in.

Early on, when we were looking at a 70-name menu of Marvel characters, Daredevil was on one of those lists, but never since those earliest of conversations, and never to the point of outreach or offers or anything like that. We made contact with everyone featured in the Fox tribute reel halfway through our end credits — and that’s dozens of actors who have been a part of that legacy. That was fun to build a love letter to those years, those characters, and all the actors who played them.
