The House of the Dragon season 2 finale director Geeta Vasant explains how Daemon is now "like a Yoda" to Rhaenyra following his vision.

In an interview with The Wrap, Vasant discussed Daemon's new role following what he saw in the vision:

The other thing we spoke about was Daemon’s power and Daemon’s strength in that scene. It’s very easy for Daemon to come across as someone who’s weak and is just like "OK, yeah, you’re number one." That’s not what the intention was. The intention is that Daemon is almost — and this is my opinion — I felt like Daemon was almost like a Yoda. He’s saying, "I know what’s coming and I will be here to be your guide, your best friend, to be whatever you need, but you are the Chosen One." That is what Matt and I talked about. That’s actually the ultimate power that Daemon has, that he’s saying I’m here to usher and guide you. Not as a man, but as part of this mission.
