Though Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine confront Sadurang in the first issue of Uncanny X-Men, he won’t be the main villain they have to face in the series.
Sadurang made his first appearance in Tony Stark: Iron Man #12 and was later featured in Savage Avengers before being somewhat MIA for years until his new appearance in Uncanny X-Men #1. Sadurang is an Asgardian dragon, who can transform into a human sorcerer and has ties to the Eye of Agamotto, which Gambit is shown holding in the trailer. Though Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine confront Sadurang in the first issue of Uncanny X-Men, he won’t be the main villain they have to face in the series; it is possible that Sadurang could instead be a character that assists the new team.
Simone’s main Uncanny X-Men roster is perhaps the most star-studded team of the mutants’ new era, with five standout heroes making up the group. Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine will be joined by other beloved mutant heroes Jubilee and Nightcrawler to round out the lineup. While other teams in the From the Ashes relaunch like X-Men or Exceptional X-Men feature newer, or more underutilized Marvel characters, that fans may not be as familiar with, Uncanny X-Men’s main roster is full of cherished heavy-hitters.
