Rebel Moon director Zack Snyder reveals his favorite scene to shoot from the franchise so far. Snyder wrote and directed Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire and its sequel, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, both of which have been made into extended, R-rated director's cuts. Collaborating with Netflix has allowed Snyder to begin his science-fiction franchise, which he plans to continue expanding with more stories, including direct sequels, and a prequel spinoff about Rebel Moon's overarching villain, Balisarius (Fra Fee).
In an interview with The Hollywood Handle, Snyder was asked about his favorite Rebel Moon scene to shoot. Snyder explained his favorite scene is an important action sequence with Kora that occurs early on in the story of both the original and director's cut of the first Rebel Moon film. He broke down why he enjoyed shooting this scene so much and shared his enthusiasm for how the scene ultimately looked in the director's cut. Check out Snyder's explanation below:
Kora fighting the guys in the barn, killing all the Imperial guys in the barn. That felt old school. It was like old school fighting and shooting and really just going, you know, shot to shot and really telling that story was really fun. And I can’t wait for you to see the R-rated version of it.

Kora's journey to rebellion began in a barn on Veldt and will likely take her back to the Motherworld, where she will need to confront Balisarius in Snyder's planned Rebel Moon sequels.
Kora (Sofia Boutella) brutally killing the Imperium soldiers in the barn on the planet Veldt is an expertly choreographed action sequence, but more importantly, it is an essential turning point in her character's journey. Prior to this scene, Kora tries to atone for her past sins by keeping a low profile and living a peaceful life on Veldt, refusing to join the resistance against the Motherworld, or be the violent warrior she used to be. That changes when she sees the Imperium soldiers on Veldt sexually assaulting Sam (Charlotte Maggi) in a barn.
It is at this moment that Kora realizes she can no longer live passively while the Imperium brutalizes others. It is only after killing these Imperium soldiers and saving Sam, with help from a "Jimmy" robot (Anthony Hopkins), and a soldier who defected, Aris (Sky Yang), that Kora commits herself to using her military training and unparalleled fighting skills to protect Veldt. Her commitment to fighting for the planet that has become her home eventually extends to her joining the wider rebellion.
Sam, Jimmy, and Aris all fight alongside Kora in the second Rebel Moon film.
Both Rebel Moon films, and the director's cuts, have gradually revealed more details about Kora's tragic past and her history with the franchise's primary antagonist, Balisarius. If Snyder's franchise continues despite Rebel Moon's negative reviews, the paths of Kora and Balisarius will ultimately need to collide. Kora's journey to rebellion began in a barn on Veldt and will likely take her back to the Motherworld, where she will need to confront Balisarius in Snyder's planned Rebel Moon sequels.
