Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero's Cell Vs Orange Piccolo Fight Is More Badass Than Ever In New Fanart

Summary Gohan and Piccolo debuted new forms, "Beast Mode" and "Orange Piccolo," in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, with new fanart presenting an alternate version of the finale's final fight with Cell Max.

Fanart by Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1) features Perfect Cell Max, not Semi-Perfect Cell Max, battling Orange Piccolo in a badass showdown.

Kakeru's art depicts Orange Piccolo losing to Perfect Cell Max, giving fans a battle that can't be seen anywhere else.

In 2022’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gohan and Piccolo both achieved brand new forms, with the former receiving a unique “Beast Mode” and the latter getting an “Orange Piccolo” transformation that boosted his power to heights previously unreachable. Teaming up to take on Cell Max in the film's finale, new fanart features the debut of Perfect Cell Max and reimagines his fight with Orange Piccolo in an incredibly badass way!

A “What If?” image shared on social media via Instagram, Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1) excels when coming up with never-before-seen Dragon Ball scenarios that are then illustrated in an art style that rivals Akira Toriyama, to say nothing about the way Kakeru perfectly adapts canon events from the series too.

Previously drawing scenes featuring Broly achieving Super Saiyan Blue status, Trunks taking his rightful place as Prince of all Saiyans, and even Beast Gohan fighting a perfected version of Cell Max, Kakeru doesn’t miss when it comes to creating professional-level Dragon Ball fanart, with this latest piece proving that right yet again.

Orange Piccolo Takes on Perfect Cell Max in New Badass Fanart

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero stepped away from the Goku and Vegeta-dominated stories of the past to focus on a resurgent Gohan and a paternal Piccolo as they come up against a revived Semi-Perfect Cell in their attempts to thwart the remnants of the Red Ribbon Army. Taking on Cell Max in the film’s climactic brawl, a powered-up Orange Piccolo does battle with Cell and eventually helps Beast Gohan take the tyrant down for good. Yet, as epic as this finale was, many wished that Perfect Cell had appeared instead, with Kakeru’s fanart flawlessly delivering on that.

Swapping Semi-Perfect Cell for his perfect counterpart, Kakeru nails the character’s form to form transition, giving Perfect Cell a Super Hero-accurate red, green, purple, and black color scheme as well as a porous club-like tail that shoots steam. Similar to how Cell Max bested Orange Piccolo in the movie, Kakeru draws an armless and unconscious Piccolo clenched tight in Cell's hand, with Kakeru sketching Cell in a triumphant stance complete with a powerful stare that sells this new version of him in a way that makes fans lament over never getting to see the character like this on-screen for real.

Dragon Ball Fanart Depicts Perfect Cell Max Defeating Orange Piccolo

Since Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1) has already produced fanart featuring both Gohan and Piccolo fighting Perfect Cell Max, the final piece needed to complete this trilogy of art is one showing them finally taking down the villain with a well-placed “Beast Mode” Special Beam Cannon. It remains to be seen what’s in store for Piccolo and his vibrant new transformation in proper Dragon Ball Super continuity, but one thing’s for sure: he better get back to training just in case Perfect Cell Max ever rears his ugly head again.
