Malcolm In The Middle Star Reveals What Happened To Dewey Actor After Show Ended: "He's Asked Us All To Be Quiet"

Summary Dewey actor Erik Per Sullivan stepped away from acting after Malcolm in the Middle, pursuing graduate work in Victorian literature.

Frankie Muniz continues acting with guest roles but also pursues an open racing career and recently became a parent.

Bryan Cranston, who played Hal, wants a Malcolm in the Middle revival.

Malcolm in the Middle's Jane Kaczmarek offers a candid update on Erik Per Sullivan, revealing why the Dewey actor stepped back from Hollywood after the show ended. Helped by its popularity, the dysfunctional family comedy ran for seven seasons and a total of 151 episodes, featuring a consistent core Malcolm in the Middle cast that included Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Christopher Kennedy Masterson, and Justin Berfield. But since the seven-time Emmy-winning series ended in 2006, some of the performers have gone in different paths.

In an interview with Malcolm France, a YouTube channel dedicated to the sitcom, Kaczmarek gave an update on Dewey's actor and shared what he's been up to. Kaczmarek, who played the matriarch of the family Louis, shared that Sullivan had continued to act and added that her former co-star is now doing graduate work at a prestigious university. The quote is below:

“He’s well, he’s very, very well… He did Malcolm for seven years, he started at seven, he ended at 14. He wasn’t interested in acting, at all.” “He goes to school at a very prestigious American university that he’s asked us all to be quiet about and he loves Charles Dickens. He’s doing graduate work in Victorian literature. I admire it because so many people think being in show business is the greatest thing in the world, it’s not for everyone.”
