Can Drilbur Be Shiny In Pokémon GO?

Not all Spotlight Hour stars can be shiny, but the good news is that Shiny Drilbur is indeed available to encounter in Pokémon GO. This rare variant made its debut during the Sustainability Week event in April 2023 and has been available ever since. It has the same base color as regular Drilbur but flips the colors of its pink nose and blue body markings around.

Of course, the chances of finding a Shiny Pokémon are very slim, and that unfortunately doesn't change during a Spotlight Hour event. There will be plenty of Drilbur spawning in the wild during this hour, though, making this one of the best times to find a Shiny Drilbur, as you'll have so many chances to encounter them. Tap on as many as you can and keep your fingers crossed.

To evolve Drilbur into Excadrill in Pokémon GO, you need to collect 50 Candy, head to the Pokémon's information page, and then tap the 'Evolve' button. There are no special items or buddy tasks required for this process, which makes it a relatively easy evolution to achieve in comparison to other Pokémon like Feebas, which require you to walk 20km to evolve them into Milotic.

If you're struggling to save up enough Candy to evolve Drilbur, you can get a little bit of Candy by transferring any Drilbur you don't need from your Pokémon storage. Be sure to appraise them first to make sure you save your best ones. You can also use Pinap Berries when catching Drilbur in Pokémon GO to earn some extra Candy. Rare Candy should only be used as a last resort.
