Superman Gives [SPOILER] the New Justice League Title They Deserve
Summary Superman gives Booster Gold the title of "Team Manager."
The title of "Team Manager" may seem like an immense honor, especially coming from Superman, but it is anything but.
Booster Gold's "Team Manager" title reveals how the Trinity truly feels about him.
WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for Batman: The Brave and the Bold #15!Within the DC Universe, Batman and Superman are often considered the co-leaders of the Justice League. However, these titles are usually unofficial, as formal titles within the team are rare to nonexistent. But now, the Man of Steel has changed the status quo by giving one League member an official title.
Mark Russell and Jon Mikel return with the grand finale of their Booster Gold-centric story, Time Jerks, in Batman: The Brave and the Bold #15. This three-part time-traveling tale has seen Michael Carter meet the Jurassic League, the dinosaur version of the Justice League, accidentally cause the extinction of the human race, save the human race, and then once again find the human race in danger due to an asteroid.
Learning from his past mistakes, Booster seeks the help of the Justice League to prevent the asteroid from hitting Earth. During this impromptu team-up, Superman designates Booster Gold as the “Team Manager.”

Superman Gives Booster Gold the Title of “Team Manager” of the Justice League
At first glance, being designated as the “Team Manager” of the Justice League by Superman may seem like an immense honor. However, the comic makes it clear that Superman’s motivations have nothing to do with honoring Michael. As the two heroes, along with Wonder Woman and Batman, approach the asteroid, Booster asks what the plan is and how he can help. Addressing Booster's assumption that he would be actively involved, Superman awkwardly says, “...I think maybe you should just wait here. Let us handle this. Think of yourself… as the Team Manager.”
Superman’s demeanor makes it clear that he wants Booster to stay out of their way, offering him a meaningless title to let him down gently. Even the usually self-absorbed Michael picks up on this, muttering, “What exactly am I managing here?” The humor in this scene is sharp, but it also reveals the Trinity’s true feelings about Booster Gold—they regard him more as an irritating civilian than a valued teammate. This moment underscores the disparity between Booster’s self-perception and how he is actually viewed by the core members of the Justice League.

Despite "Team Manager" being an empty title, it would be very in-character for Booster Gold to flaunt it and try to enforce it in future storylines. Michael’s membership in the Justice League is questionable at best and depends on specific storylines. Consequently, there are plenty of comics featuring him butting into Justice League business, only to be informed that he isn’t a member. However, now Booster Gold can honestly say that Superman made him the Team Manager of the Justice League—a title the Man of Steel will almost certainly regret ever mentioning aloud.
