Was Brandon Sheets Really Fired From Storage Wars? The Controversy Explained (& Where He Is Now)
Summary Brandon Sheets left Storage Wars, possibly due to budget cuts, leaving his father Darrell on the show.
After his departure, Brandon became a real estate agent in Arizona and is still active on social media.
It seems Brandon has moved on from his time on the show, showcasing his sense of humor and resilience.
Fans of Storage Wars may have noticed that Brandon Sheets suddenly disappeared from the show, but they may not know why. Storage Wars premiered on A&E in 2010 and has been on the air every year since. While it's generally considered one of the fakest reality TV shows out there, it's hard to deny how entertaining it is watching the buyers outbid one another for a locker that could be filled with either trash or something of real value. Beyond the excitement of finding out what's in the box, the personalities of the cast make for a fun watch.
Each of the recurring "buyers" in Storage Wars comes with a nickname that usually describes their tactics, proclivities, wants, or area of expertise. There's "The Junkster", "The Mogul", "The King", "Paris Hilton" and so on. "The Gambler" and "The Sidebet" refer to Darrell Sheets and his son Brandon, respectively, a family duo who first appeared on the show in the pilot episode. Brandon was a memorable part of the series who stumbled upon plenty of treasure in his time on Storage Wars, so it was a bit of a surprise when he was suddenly gone.

Brandon Sheets Was Possibly Let Go From Storage Wars Because Of Budget Cuts
Darrell Has Remained On The Show
Close
Brandon's final episode of Storage Wars was season 9, episode 13, "Sundown Showdown", but he didn't appear in the last two episodes of the season, and never returned to the show. Though A&E has never given a reason for why Brandon stopped appearing, there's been speculation that the network fired him for financial reasons. The theory goes that A&E could only afford to keep one of the Sheets, and so picked Darrell. A since-deleted tweet from Brandon backs this up (via Looper),
"Funny how @AETV fired me for lack of budget but they still have their people follow me on Social media and want me to do free stuff."
Another since-deleted Tweet from Brandon read, via Christian Post,
"I am no longer affiliated with Storage Wars, Darrell will still be in new episodes but I have been told I am no longer on the show (budget)."
Though this has never been officially confirmed by A&E, it's likely the case considering Brandon's tweets and the fact that Darrell remains on the show. Since those tweets, Brandon has been quiet about leaving Storage Wars and if he was frustrated after seemingly being fired, it appears that he's cooled down about it.
Brandon and Darrell began the series as partners but in later seasons, went up against one another during auctions.
Sheets Appears To Be Living A Happy Life As A Real Estate Agent In Arizona
Brandon Sheets Posts Often On Social Media
Brandon has clearly not let his departure from Storage Wars get him down. He's since moved from California to Arizona with his family, where he is a sales agent and logistics specialist for a real estate company. His LinkedIn profile showcases some of the goofy sense of humor he was known for on the show with an about section that reads,
"I no longer lift things up and put them down. I used to be on Storage Wars, now I am a Real Estate Agent in Arizona, buy and sell things of Value! currently work as a logistics specialist 'Oh what a time to be ALIVE!'"
He's still finding ways to entertain as well and, in 2019, he made a series of Facebook posts in the style of MTV's Cribs but about his middle-class suburban life. More recently, in June 2024, Brandon was in a major car accident that he miraculously escaped from with only some injuries and his other posts suggest he has since recovered.
Brandon Sheets' life post-Storage Wars has certainly been different, but it appears to be no less fulfilling.
