Summary Players have modded Black Ops 6 to include low gravity, creating a fun new way to move around the map.

Launching as a Day One release for Xbox Game Pass, Black Ops 6 must prove the franchise still has life.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has yet to release but that's not stopping the community from playing with one of the game's new features and inadvertently creating what should be an official game mode. Just a few months before the next installment of the annual franchise is slated to drop, a build version managed to leak onto the internet, allowing some users a chance to play early. As it turns out, some have taken the leak even further by making some adjustments to a system that's resulting in some fun moments.

Posted to X (formerly Twitter) by user ModernWarzone, some players who gained access to the leaked build have modded the multiplayer to run with low gravity, allowing users to leap around the map as if they were on the Moon.

The result is incredibly fun to watch as the new omnidirectional movement system, which allows players to dive and slide in any direction, is used to soar across the battlefield by gunning down opponents. Some have likened the video to Max Payne and it's not too difficult to see it becoming an official game mode in the final release.

A Big Move For Microsoft

Call of Duty players likely won't be too surprised by Black Ops 6 when it does launch on October 25 given that most of the gameplay seems to be the same familiar formula the community has come to know and love. The aforementioned omnidirectional movement is taking the spotlight as the game's major innovation as Activision is hailing Black Ops 6 as the fastest game in the franchise. Combined with a feature known as Intelligent Movement, which allows for seamless switches between various locomotion states, it should be a fairly slick shooter.

Despite all the hype surrounding Black Ops 6, there's a great deal riding on the game's success when it comes to Microsoft and Xbox. Launching as a Day One release for Xbox Game Pass, the company is looking to push its subscription service as the best place to play Call of Duty, so the experience needs to be worthwhile. It also needs to justify the price hike that hit Game Pass in July; even though Black Ops 6 was not named as the reason behind the increase, that's the widely held belief.

Following the disappointing release of Modern Warfare 3 in 2023, a game that stands as the worst-rated in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 needs to prove that there's still life left in the legendary franchise. The unique setting and revamped movement may be enough to please fans for a while but whether it has staying power remains to be seen. After a fairly disastrous 2024, Xbox needs a win.
