Liam Neeson's $222M Action Thriller Leaving Netflix As Director's Second Airport Thriller Premieres

Liam Neeson's $222M Action Thriller Leaving Netflix As Director's Second Airport Thriller Premieres

Liam Neeson's name would certainly be towards the top of the list when listing the biggest action stars working today. Neeson is perhaps best known for the Taken movies, wherein he plays a father who is desperately looking for his kidnapped daughter. Taken is now a movie trilogy, which began in 2008 and concluded in 2014 with Taken 3. Taken was also later adapted into a 2017 TV series starring Clive Standen in Neeson's former role as Bryan Mills.

Taken is far from the only action film that Neeson has become known for, however. He also plays the villain Ra's Al Ghul in two films within Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, another hugely popular action franchise. Just this year, Neeson was in the action film Absolution, where he played an aging gangster who is trying to forgive himself for his past and restore relationships with his children, only to get sucked into the underworld again. Other recent Neeson action films include In the Land of Saints and Sinners and Retribution.

Non-Stop Is Leaving Netflix

But Another Neeson Film Has Recently Arrived

Neeson's action film Non-Stop is soon leaving Netflix. Non-Stop is about an air marshal who must take action on a transatlantic flight when he gets the message that an off-shore account is requesting $150 million, and if he does not deliver, someone on the plane will die every 20 minutes. In addition to Neeson, Non-Stop featured a leading cast including Julianne Moore, Scoot McNairy, Michelle Dockery, Nate Parker, and Corey Stoll. It did well in theaters, making $222.8 million against an estimated $50 million budget.

Now, Netflix is planning to remove Non-Stop and one other Neeson film. Non-Stop will depart from Netflix on December 31, alongside fellow Neeson movie Cold Pursuit. Run All Night, which recently debuted on Netflix, will stay on Netflix after this date, even as the other two make their unfortunate exit.

Our Take On Non-Stop And Cold Pursuit Leaving Netflix

At Least Three Neeson Films Are Still There

Close

The fact that two Neeson films are leaving Netflix is extra bad news for fans of the actor. Now, there will only be three Neeson films left on the streaming service, including Run All Night, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Made in Italy. The only consolation is that Run All Night has been doing well on the platform since its recent premiere, making the Netflix charts. Hopefully, Run All Night's success could lead to more Neeson films being added to Netflix, even as Non-Stop and Cold Pursuit make their exits.
