Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 - Release Date, New Characters, Banners, Amphoreus, Story Updates, & Events
All the details about Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 and the destination of Amphoreus have been officially revealed by developer HoYoverse ahead of the update’s release later in January. Version 3.0 will kick off the turn-based RPG’s third year of content following the Astral Express’ adventures in Penacony. Now, they will venture into the mysterious world of Amphoreus, where they will help solve a unique problem on their journey while meeting several Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail, who will be key in pushing the story forward and aiding in the exploration of this enigmatic location.
Version 3.0 will also be responsible for the introduction of Remembrance as a playable Path. Remembrance, along with Erudition and another unnamed Path, is one of the three main Paths that Amphoreus is aligned to. Two new characters on the Path of the Remembrance will be introduced in Version 3.0, including Aglaea, who is from Amphoreus, and the Remembrance Trailblazer. Aside from Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail, there will be a load of extra content for players to explore in the upcoming patch, which should not take too long to be released.
It’s been confirmed by HoYoverse that the game is sticking to its regular six-week schedule for updates and that Version 3.0 will be released on January 15. The information was revealed during the Version 3.0 livestream, which was broadcast on the official Honkai: Star Rail channel on YouTube. This shows that the game has not suffered any internal delays and that the standard release schedule is being followed. With a definitive release date having been confirmed, it’s unlikely that the update will be delayed in any manner.
Related Honkai Star Rail 3.0 Leaks Show A Major Technical Improvement (But Only For Some Players) Aside from new playable content, Honkai: Star Rail may see some adjustments to its quality, including a major technical breakthrough for some players.
The release date’s confirmation also debunks a previous rumor that indicated that Version 2.7, the final update before Version 3.0, would be the longest patch so far. The leak had not specified how long it would last, but it did mention it would last longer, which would inevitably push the expected release date beyond January 15. That, however, proved to be incorrect since HoYoverse has confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 will arrive exactly when it was expected to.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 - New Characters & Banners
Close
Although the new characters had been confirmed by HoYoverse well over a month ago, the company has now described how each of these characters will work in the game. The Herta is the first of these new characters. The 5-star Ice character follows the Path of the Erudition. The character specializes in dealing multi-target damage, even if she starts off dealing damage to a single target. The Herta can apply Interpretation stacks on enemies (up to 42 stacks each) and when using her Enhanced Skill, she deals extra damage based on how many stacks they have.
As was predicted by The Herta’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail, she can transfer Interpretation stacks from weaker opponents onto the strongest one on the field by using her Ultimate ability.
Aglaea is the other new 5-star character in Version 3.0. The Amphoreus character deals Lightning DMG and follows the Path of the Remembrance. As a Remembrance character, Aglaea can summon a memosprite and hers is called Garmentmaker. The core of her rotation revolves around attacking enemies and marking them – in turn, Garmentmaker strikes marked enemies. Throughout combat, Garmentmaker can accumulate SPD stacks and when Aglaea uses her Ultimate, she inherits the accumulated SPD, increasing not only that stat, specifically, but her damage output. Aglaea’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail had predicted SPD to be vital to her rotation.
The third and final new character is the Remembrance Trailblazer. Dealing Ice DMG, the protagonist’s new form will also summon a memosprite, though theirs is called Mem. The idea is to accumulate charges for Mem by battling normally and once the memosprite is at full energy, Mem can buff a targeted ally and allow them to deal True DMG. This is a new gameplay mechanic that ignores buffs and debuffs on targeted opponents and strikes them directly. The Remembrance Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail will be a support, whereas Aglaea, who is also a Remembrance unit, will be a DPS.

During the livestream, HoYoverse also confirmed the banner structure in Version 3.0. The Phase 1 banners will feature The Herta and a triple rerun composed of Jade, Feixiao, and Lingsha, while Phase 2 banners will offer Aglaea and a triple rerun composed of Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf. This information confirms previous leaks about the banners in Version 3.0. In Phase 1, Natasha, Asta, and Moze will have increased drop rates, while Phase 2 banners in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 will make it easier to obtain Tignyun, Hanya, and Qingque.
Amphoreus will represent the largest chunk of new playable content in Version 3.0. The Eternal Land will be released with four new maps: Abyss of Fate, Okhema, Castrum Kremnos, and Vortex of Origin. While some maps may be a bit smaller, Okhema is expected to be a massive area since it is the main city in Amphoreus. The Marmoreal Palace, for example, will be a large sub-region within Okhema. Within some of these maps will reside new enemies known as Titankins. These opponents have a special mechanic called War Armor in Honkai: Star Rail.

When this War Armor is depleted, they lose a portion of their HP and players restore some energy. Other opponents from Amphoreus will also be introduced such as the avatar of the Titan Nikador, and they will also have a special gameplay mechanic. There will even be a chest-stealing enemy that needs to be hunted and defeated before claiming the items from the respective chest.
Version 3.0 will add a new Trailblaze Mission Chapter set in Amphoreus, where the Trailblazer will follow the Heroic Saga of Flame-Chase. In The Eternal Land, the Trailblazer and Dan Heng will serve as the vanguard of exploration for the Astral Express. March 7th will be left out of this adventure, even if temporarily, because she has some connection to the Remembrance and will embark on an individual journey to resolve that. In Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 and onward, players will help the Chrysos Heirs defeat Titans and reclaim Coreflames to restore the planet to all its glory.
HoYoverse announced that Amphoreus Trailblaze Missions will be released continuously over the next eight patches (from Version 3.0 through Version 3.7).
Several events will take place in Version 3.0. Hypogeum Enigma will be the flagship event with various game modes that will offer players Stellar Jade and Self-Modeling Resin. The Illia Travelogue is an event that helps players explore Amphoreus, face enemies, and get rewards in Amphoreus. The Enscrolled Crepusculum event will be centered around combat and will feature a unique battle mechanic. Players can expect the Gift of Odyssey login event that offers 10 Star Rail Special Passes, as well as Mem’s Gift, which will also grant 10 Star Rail Special Passes and a Variable Dice in Honkai: Star Rail.
The update will add a new Calyx (Crimson) activity, dropping Ascension materials for Remembrance characters, as well as a new Cavern of Corrosion, that results in the introduction of two new Relic sets. A new Flying Amphora mechanic will be added to Amphoreus to enhance movement speed, and Trailblaze Power’s daily cap will be expanded to 300. Additionally, all upgrade material stages will be made available, even if players haven’t unlocked them on the map. Version 3.0 will finally see the introduction of Treasure Gadget items and a new Leveling Guide.

Players who log in during Version 3.0 will also be gifted with the free March 7th skin, Nascent Spring, exclusive to her Preservation form. During the patch, a new event called Cosmic Lucky Prize will also take place. This is, essentially, an in-game lottery where 20 players will win 500,000 Stellar Jade, though participants can also claim some free Stellar Jade. Players will have their hands full during Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, and this is just the first patch of the year.
