Genshin Impact 5.4's Leaked Battle Event Seems Like The Most Exciting Update In Some Time

Genshin Impact 5.4's Leaked Battle Event Seems Like The Most Exciting Update In Some Time

There are mentions of a new battle event in Genshin Impact 5.4 leaks and, while combat-focused events are quite frequent in the action RPG by HoYoverse, this feels like the best update in the game in quite some time. At the moment, the title is at the start of Version 5.3, an important patch that brought forth the final Natlan Archon Quests and introduced four new playable characters. The update is also going to host the annual Lantern Rite Festival, which will be somewhat accompanied by the release of the Liyue character Lan Yan in Genshin Impact.

Even with the attention turned toward the currently available content, some of it is shifting toward the next patch as the Version 5.4 beta tests have commenced. With the tests already happening, a lot of information about the upcoming patch is starting to leak. This includes details about the rumored character Yumemizuki Mizuki, as well as potential character banners during the period. There has also been a leak about a possible free event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4, which would normally be good news for players, but its rumored cap puts a damper on any possible expectations for the item.

Genshin Impact 5.4 Leaks Hint At A Battle Tower Event

Over 100 Stages Of Combat Are Predicted For The Leaked Event

According to information provided by the leaker known as HomDGCat, Version 5.4 will feature a battle event centered around a tower structure. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. As seen in the leak, the battle event will feature five challenges, each with 25 floors. The idea is to complete each floor within 30 seconds to proceed to the next one. According to the leak, once players complete Floor 19 in each challenge, they will unlock a Prismatic Badge in Genshin Impact, which should help friends during their challenges, too.

The leak says that if a friend has completed Floor 19 in a specific challenge, players will receive a Friend Buff, which is likely a result of the Prismatic Badge. This Friend Buff is said to increase Max HP, ATK, and DEF by 25% and boost Elemental Mastery by 200. According to the leak, from Floor 200 onward in each challenge, enemy HP can exceed 10 million. Another leak by Seele and X1, which was also posted on Reddit, mentions that this limited-time game mode doesn’t permit players to switch team comps between floors and that it supports co-op gameplay.

The leak also says enemy levels and HP gradually increase with each floor in challenges and that those capable of clearing 95 floors will obtain a free namecard in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.4's Leaked Battle Event Has A High Difficulty But Numerous Buffs

Each Challenge Requires A Specific Team Comp Strategy

Based on the leak, it seems like the battle event in Version 5.4 will be one of immense difficulty, especially as players progress into the final floors of each challenge. The mention of 10 million HP for an enemy is indicative of that. It’s likely that the special rewards, which include Primogems, will be capped out at a certain floor’s completion and not extend into Floor 25. As such, even F2P players are enabled to obtain Primogems, while those who progress further will gain extra materials – at least, this is the case with most combat-centered events in Genshin Impact.

As was mentioned by HomDGCat, there are five challenges composed of 25 floors each. Each of these challenges is also rumored to be thematic with unique buffs, which will unavoidably affect players’ team comps. The first challenge is allegedly called Awaken, Sanctuary of Night-Draped Spirits. In it, when characters are in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, their DMG is increased by 150%. When the attacks of an active character in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state hit an opponent, a shockwave is unleashed, dealing AoE Pyro DMG, an effect that can be triggered once every three seconds.

For this challenge, for example, players should be compelled to use Natlan characters in their team comps, such as one led by Mavuika in Genshin Impact.

The second leaked challenge in the battle event for Version 5.4 is called Traverse, Realm of Sudden Change. Melt and Vaporize DMG is increased by 60% in this activity. When a character triggers Melt, Vaporize, or Frozen on enemies, party members have their ATK increased by 50% for six seconds, up to three stacks. The third leaked challenge is called Ascend, Domain of Whirling Gales. Here, Swirl DMG is increased by 100% and when a character triggers Swirl in Genshin Impact, their DMG output is increased by 120% and their Elemental Mastery is buffed by 400 for six seconds.

Unburden, Source of Vengeful Spite is the fourth leaked challenge. When a character receives healing, ATK is boosted by 100% for eight seconds. When a character obtains Bond of Life, ATK is increased by 100% for 12 seconds. After a character defeats an opponent, the active character gets Bond of Life worth 40% of their Max HP, which can be triggered once every five seconds. The fifth challenge, Resonate, Land of Concordant Heroes increases all allies’ Max HP, ATK, and DEF by 65% and their EM by 500 for 12 seconds after Nightsoul Burst is triggered, up to three stacks.

The values for the buffs of each challenge stage and even their specific rules may change from the beta tests to the official release of Version 5.4.

The leak shows that each challenge will require a well-thought team comp and strategy so that each mechanic is exploited at its maximum capacity. The fourth challenge, for instance, will require a character to deal periodic healing to a Bond of Life DPS like Arlecchino or Clorinde in Genshin Impact. These buffs, combined with the Friend Buff at Floor 19, should help players get through all 25 Floors of each challenge in the leaked battle event. There is, however, an even better solution: co-op.

Co-Op May Be The Solution To Genshin Impact 5.4's Leaked Battle Event

Players May Rely On Allies To Get The Job Done

As was mentioned in Seele’s leak, co-op will be available in the battle tower event. While the game tends to scale enemies’ levels and HP based on the number of players, which would naturally balance it out, this may actually be the best way of getting through the tougher floors in each challenge – this is especially true for players who are either F2P or have fewer available units to use at peak performance. Players may be lucky enough to matchmake with a player with a complete roster full of 5-star characters at C6 in Genshin Impact, for example.

Related Why Genshin Impact Confirming Long-Forgotten Leaked Characters Like Dahlia & Prison Girl Is A Big Deal HoYoverse has teased seven new characters for Genshin Impact. Among them are several previously leaked characters like Dahlia and prison girl.

If players combine their natural efforts with the challenges’ buffs, the Friend Buff, and a dedicated ally who has well-built characters capable of melting through tougher enemies’ HP bars, completing all 25 floors of all five challenges seems quite possible. If the speculated difficulty for the leaked battle event is true, then this will also be a grand opportunity for hardcore players to showcase everything their team comps are capable of achieving.

For now, the leaks should be considered with caution. Even if the battle event is true, it should be considered with caution, as a lot is still subject to change ahead of its official release. Nonetheless, as challenging as the battle tower event seems, it also feels like the best battle event and one of the most exciting updates in some time. Unfortunately, leaks indicate it’s a limited-time event but, depending on its success, it may eventually return in Genshin Impact.
