The New Trailer Showcases Jinwoo Entering a Mysterious Dungeon in Episode 1

This new trailer depicts Jinwoo with his little sister’s friend Han Song-Yi, who is an E-rank hunter who was recruited in the first season as one of Jinwoo’s party members for his guild to be able to access dungeons. Both Jinwoo and Han Song-Yi enter a dangerous red gate, different from the usual blue portals that transport hunters, and are sent to a snowy forest dungeon. This teaser also showcases Igris as a shadow soldier fighting a massive ice bear, which seems like the perfect occasion for Jinwoo to learn how to control his new power.

Also, the focus in the teaser on other characters, like the Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association and the masters of the White Tiger and Hunter Guilds, shows how, starting with the Red Gate Arc, this season will give more relevance to secondary characters, and showcase the strength of powerful S-Rank hunters, further developing the worldbuilding of the anime.

Solo Leveling’s first season adapted a total of 45 chapters of the manhwa, covering seven arcs up to the Job Change Quest, where Jinwoo had to fight a horde of undead knights and a powerful commander, Igris, who is now part of the ranks of Jinwoo’s shadow army. Solo Leveling’s season 2 will pick up right where the first installment ended, with Jinwoo's shadow army appearing to be a key aspect for him to awaken an even greater power. This season will probably cover up to the Jeju Island arc which ends in chapter 127 of the manhwa.

Additionally, viewers can expect to watch how Sung Jinwoo continues to reveal some of the mysteries of the system while trying to get the ingredients to craft the rare potion that could cure his mother. Given the overwhelming fan response to its first season, it’s not surprising that Solo Leveling season 2 is one of the most anticipated animes of winter 2025 since this installment will take the story to new heights, so fans should keep an eye on the season’s premiere.
