What Happened In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #19?

The Heroes Are Even More Cornered Than Before

Close

Chapter #19 began with a flashback to the Hidden Sand, where Shinki gave Araya a sword that would be able to manipulate his Iron Sand. After talking some more about their feelings towards Gaara and Yodo, the chapter returned to the fight, where Araya freed Mitsuki from Ryu's Iron Sand. The group decides that Sarada and Mitsuki will be the main attackers, with Araya defending them from the Iron Sand. Yodo would be the sensory unit. This coordinated plan works well, and Sarada's Fire Style and Mitsuki's Snake Clones relentlessly attack Ryu.

Unfortunately, Ryu disintegrates his body into sand and hides in the desert terrain, trying to catch them off guard. However, Yodo senses his location, and Ryu forces his body to come back together, giving the group sight of him. Sarada and Mitsuki attack him again, and while they did do some damage, Ryu disintegrates again.

Chapter #19 then switches to Matsuri and Konohamaru, where they are arguing and Matsuri attacks him. Eida is watching from afar using her Shinjutsu, and relays the information to Kashin Koji. She also tells him that Sarada's group is still fighting Ryu, and hearing that the situation is bad, Boruto tries to save them but is stopped by Koji.

Elsewhere, Jura and Hidari are discussing their future and nature as God Trees. He talks about humanity's flawed logic. He then divulges the consequence of intelligence: love, and how it can even affect them. He gives an example of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio fighting to save Himawari's life, and it was love that made them fight despite the impossible wall in front of them. The chapter cuts back to the fight between Ryu and Sarada's group. Ryu notices how the group has the advantage and decides to summon Claw Grimes to overwhelm them with numbers.

While they do fight back, they are outnumbered, and Yodo is attacked by one of them, threatening to bite and devour her. Araya steps in and cuts it down, but his sword gets stuck as he tries to pull it back. Ryu takes advantage of this slip-up and retrieves the Claw Grime that has the sword in it back into his body. And with that, the one thing that neutralized Ryu's Iron Sand was gone. The chapter ends after the focus switches to Matsuri about to devour Konohamaru.

Team 7 Is Facing Their Worst Predicament Yet

While the group has faced some truly awful villains, Ryu and Matsuri are definitely their worst opponents yet, not just because of the significant power gap but also the connection they have to the host as well as the importance of the mission.

Though they have lost their one hope of taking him down, it seems like they are still in the fight, as the new sneak peek shows Mitsuki attacking Ryu and even forcing him back. This could mean they found a weakness or a new power that will help in the battle. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is about to usher in its 100th chapter with the continuation of its most exciting fight yet, and fans simply cannot miss it.
