Power Rangers R.P.M. jumps a year into the future following the fall of humanity, revealing that Dr. K has now assembled a team of three heroes to protect the remaining human city of Corinth. For her skills and strength, Summer was chosen to be the Yellow Ranger. Each Ranger was given a number, with Summer’s being 3. The Yellow Ranger’s arsenal was similar to that of the rest of the team – a blaster designed after a fuel pump that can also turn into a sword. Summer was part of the show until the end but didn’t return for any crossovers.

Power Rangers R.P.M. premiered on March 7, 2009.

R.P.M. Is One Of Power Rangers’ Most Underrated Seasons

Power Rangers R.P.M. is a post-apocalyptic series

Released during a period of transition for Power Rangers, R.P.M. is not as popular as series like Power Rangers in Space or Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Still, it is one of the best entries of the franchise, offering a story that was unlike anything the series had ever done. R.P.M. is among the most mature Power Rangers seasons, with villains that feel like an actual threat to the world and three-dimensional heroes. R.P.M. can be described as “Power Rangers meets Terminator” and tells the story of how a computer program took over the world.

R.P.M. is such a unique Power Rangers season that it had to be placed in its own corner of the franchise’s multiverse. The post-apocalyptic world of R.P.M. would contradict other Power Rangers seasons, particularly S.P.D and Time Force, causing it to be labeled as an alternate universe story. The stakes feel higher in R.P.M. precisely because of how separated the show was from other Power Rangers seasons. Rose McIver’s Summer is a standout, but all other Rangers and the supporting characters shine.

Power Rangers R.P.M. is available on Pluto TV.
